What Happened Actually?

Updated: Dec 6, 2021

After the tragic incident occurred, many still had their doubts and questions as to what went on, on October 28, 1943.

  • Was the USS Eldridge invisible to enemy radar?

  • Did the USS Eldridge disappear from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and reappear at Norfolk Naval shipyard in Virginia, just to reappear again at Philadelphia?

  • What happened to the crew?

It was then said, “The Office of Naval Research (ONR) has stated that the use of force field to make the ship and crew invisible does not conform to known physical law” (Philadelphia 4). In conclusion, reports came from the actual Navy stating, “After many years of searching, the staff of the Archives and independent researchers have not located any official documents that support the assertion that an invisibility or teleportation experiment involving a Navy ship occurred at Philadelphia or any other location.” (Philadelphia 4). Essentially expressing that the Philadelphia Experiment was never on record, and never occurred.
